SAINSBURY’S 150th ANNIVERSARY

Since its inception in 1869, the original British supermarket has played a key role in both the evolution of the retail industry and the everyday lives of its customers.

To celebrate Sainsbury’s 150th birthday, we showcased a century and a half of heritage with a week-long unique, immersive experience in Covent Garden: from its humble beginnings on Drury Lane
to the continued innovation that makes Sainsbury’s the household name it is today. Guests travelled back in time to discover the sights, sounds and flavours of the Sainsbury’s story and see how the shopping experience has transformed over the decades.

Over the course of a week, the multi-purpose space was attended by the Sainsbury’s family themselves, Ops Board members, countless colleagues, press & influencers, members of the public and even Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
